Neiman C. Young is a retired U.S. Army Officer, public sector executive, executive coach, and leadership strategist whose career has been defined by service, organizational leadership, and a deep commitment to helping others perform at their highest potential while maintaining personal well-being and balance. With more than two decades of experience leading teams across military, municipal government, and executive environments, Neiman has developed a leadership philosophy centered on resilience, emotional intelligence, and sustainable impact.
Raised in Houston, Texas, Neiman developed an early appreciation for discipline, service, and personal growth. His passion for leadership and organizational development eventually led him into military service, where he built a distinguished 23-year career in the United States Army. Throughout his military tenure, he served in numerous leadership and operational roles while leading teams across diverse environments around the world.
Neiman deployed multiple times to both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he gained firsthand experience leading under pressure in complex and high-stakes situations. His military career culminated with command of a Special Operations company supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, a role requiring strategic leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to manage both mission execution and personnel welfare simultaneously.
Following his retirement from the Army on February 17, 2017, Neiman transitioned directly into public sector leadership by joining the King George County government in Virginia. There, he led several critical strategic initiatives including the development of the County’s Debt Mitigation Plan and its first Economic Development Strategic Plan since 1999. He also played a key role in renegotiating contracts that generated millions of dollars in additional community revenue while representing county interests during major infrastructure negotiations involving the Federal Highway Administration, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and the Maryland Transportation Authority.
In February 2021, Neiman was appointed Assistant City Manager for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, the eighth-largest city in the state. In this executive leadership role, he oversaw more than 900 employees while managing a $901.4 million operating budget and a $700 million capital budget. His responsibilities included organizational strategy, municipal operations, infrastructure planning, and executive leadership development across multiple departments and public initiatives.
Alongside his professional leadership roles, Neiman pursued advanced education focused on organizational systems and public administration. He earned a Doctorate in Public Policy and Administration, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business, strengthening his expertise in leadership theory, governance, organizational behavior, and strategic management.
Today, Neiman focuses his work on executive coaching and the development of a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting senior leaders through confidential consultation in self-care, health, and wellness. His mission emerged from firsthand experience witnessing the effects of chronic stress and burnout among high-performing leaders across both military and civilian environments.
His coaching philosophy emphasizes emotional intelligence, resilience, integrity, and sustainable leadership practices. Neiman believes leaders are most effective when they prioritize personal wellness alongside organizational performance, and his work is designed to help executives lead with clarity, balance, and long-term sustainability rather than exhaustion and depletion.
Outside of his professional work, Neiman maintains a strong commitment to personal wellness through fitness, healthy eating, meditation, and reflective practices. These disciplines form an important foundation of both his personal life and leadership philosophy.
Known for his calm leadership style, operational expertise, and mission-driven mindset, Neiman C. Young continues helping organizations and executive leaders strengthen resilience, improve well-being, and lead more effectively in increasingly demanding environments.
